Who Run The World?

Although many will tell you that the world is run by a new world order of too many men, We think they are wrong - Girls are taking over! Today marks the first day in office of Christine Lagarde - the first female head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Christine Lagarde If that's not enough, Thailand is also set to have its first female prime minister in Yingluck Shinawatra with no opposition against a coalition. Yingluck Shinawatra These two initiations make us want to recap on our favorite female leaders and influencers! Aung San Suu Kyi was released from house arrest this year, celebrated her 66th birthday and most recently Michelle Yeoh, the actress who will play Aung San Suu Kyi in an upcoming film about Suu Kyi titled The Lady was deported from Burma because of her links to the Burmese opposition leader. We find Aung San Suu Kyi an inspiration due to her unwavering determination! Aung San Suu Kyi and Michelle Yeoh Next on our list is Mary McAleese. We chose an uachtarain because of her work in bringing Ireland and the UK together as well as her perfect presentation of Ireland while figurehead of the country - although sometimes in the face of fierce opposition. Mary McAleese and The Queen We checked out Forbes 100 most powerful women list and agree with most of them. We also believe such a list should be made for Ireland because everyday we see and admire Irish women like Adi Roche, Orla Tinsley and Mary Robinson among many many others.
