We went crackers...

Hanover Quay played host to the Guinness World Record attempt for the most simultaneous Christmas crackers pulled on Friday afternoon. Over 460 people showed up to help Carphone Warehouse and Simon Community smash the record!

It was a cold, wet day in Dublin, but that didn't stop lots of very generous people from coming down to help attempt to break the record and raise funds for Simon Community.

The Dublin Gospel Choir were on hand throughout, singing Christmas carols and doing a great job of spreading festive cheer to everyone bracing the cold.

Unfortunately the record still stands undefeated as we didn't hit the target, but the day was a complete success as Carphone Warehouse donated a generous €10,000 to Simon Community and will be further donating 50c for every gift wrapped in Carphone Warehouse stores around the country in the run up Christmas.

We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who came and helped us in our attempt to smash the record. The turnout was spectacular and we are hugely greatful to everyone for helping to fundraise on behalf of such a worthy cause.

Take a look at some of the photos from the festive day itself.
