Things to do in Dublin: Hunter’s Weekend Picks

It’s been a gloomy, rainy week, but we’ve all made it to the weekend. Now to dance off the shackles and embrace the freedom with fun things happening around the city and a little further afield. Here are Hunter's picks for the weekend ahead. Music: Castlepalooza Music & Arts FestivalWe know, it’s not quite Dublin, but this will be the destination for many music fans this weekend. Now in it's 11th year the folks behind #CP16 are changing things up a bit with a change in date, but the winning format of boutique castle fun and amazing acts remains. Expect to be blown away by Caribou, Daphni, Minor Victories, Romare, Lynched, Polica, Get Down Edits and more. Weekend tickets and day tickets are available from here. Exhibition: Arts of the BookThis is a permanent exhibition of books from the ancient world at the stunning Chester Beatty Library. Go for the books and stay for the library’s cool interiors.  The exhibition itself includes the world famous Chester Beatty Love Poems and European manuscripts. Plus the library has an impressive collection from Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, so if you’re a bookworm it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Science: Seeing. What are you looking at?This is another option if the great outdoors are a little wet and windy this weekend. The Science Gallery’s latest is called Seeing. What are you looking at?It just opened its doors but already has left many googly eyed - the exhibition looks at how our eyes, brain and even robots see.The best thing is that this is free, so if it’s a rainy day it’s a great place to pop into and while away the hours.
