Things to do in Dublin: Euros 2016 edition
The Euros 2016 have already proved to be an amazing experience for Ireland. The team has gone from strength to strength while the Irish fans have deservedly earned the label of Best Fans at the Euros. While the Boys in Green may have had us at the edge of our seats for most of the first round, it is clear that the entire country is eager to see how we do on Sunday when Ireland take on France in Lyon at 2pm. Most people’s weekend plans are now revolving around the big game on Sunday. Even non-football fans are getting in on the action. With ticket prices for the match astronomically high, there’s three venues on our list that are sure to ease the pain of not being in France to watch from the stadium.
- Croke Park
The GAA are delaying the Kildare v Westmeath and Dublin v Meath matches on Sunday so that fans don’t miss the Euros clash. Turnstiles will open at 2.45pm so that fans can catch the second half of the Ireland v France game on the big screens in Croke Park.
- Fan Zone in Smithfield
If the sun comes out, the big screen in the Smithfield is certain to be a good one. This city centre option is perfect for the whole family.
- Fan Fair at Andrew’s Lane
The unofficial fan zone in the Hangar at Andrew’s Lane has already proven popular with fans. Fan Fare is free entry and showing every match of the tournament through to the final. Expect banter and beer. Best of luck to the Boys in Green! #COYBIG
