Dublin Culture Night; The Best Free Night of the Year!

September 19th will mark the 9th consecutive year of the Dublin Culture Night and we're definitely getting excited! If the last few years are anything to go by the buzz will be incredible as Dublin cultural venues open their doors and host a spectrum of specially programmed events to suit all tastes. There will be live concerts on the St Stephen's Green Bandstand, games, walking, bike tours, hidden treasures and much more. The list goes on and on, we recommend you head over  to the Culture Night website here  to get an idea of the times and locations of events, so you can get planning your route. It really is one of the best nights in Dublin and of course it's all FREE thanks to the Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht! One of the more interesting exhibitions to be displayed this year is the unique and environmentally friendly solar powered mini cinema. Sol Cinema is a tiny cinema that holds between eight and ten people, it has been made from almost entirely recycled materials with an emphases on creating the greenest cinema possible. The cinema will be showcasing projects funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and there are also plans for a 'listening lounge' where visitors would be able to listen to a selection of BAI-funded radio programmes.
