A kiss is a rosy dot over the 'i' of loving

20106. That's the amount of minutes the average person will spend kissing in their lifetime. Today is National Kissing Day in the UK and to celebrate we are dedicating a whole blog post to the wonderful world of kissing. The idea behind National Kissing Day is that people may have forgotten the simple pleasures of kissing. If you need any convincing in why you should be locking lips we have some great reasons!

  • Kissing helps reduce tooth decay because the extra saliva helps clean out your mouth.
  • You burn 26 calories in a one minute kiss.
  • Leper-kissing became fashionable among medieval ascetics and religious nobility during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. It was deemed proof of humility
  • Pliny the Elder insists that kissing a donkey’s nostril will cure the common cold

Everyone loves a kiss and MTV even have an award for it. Each year at the MTV awards the funniest and most popular award is always The Best Kiss Award. Our favourite is the The Notebook Kiss with Ryan Gosling and Rachael McAdams.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXPC6qIB3Gk] Every year there are countless longest kiss record attempts but they're generally pretty boring . The French world record for kissing is hilarious especially as they have sped up the video.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJILatQn-Jk&feature=fvwrel] Happy Kissing Everyone!
